I WEAR THAT CROWN

'I wear that crown' is a powerful song, and in every way possible I mean to say that from a place of humility. As a matter of fact, I would go so far as to say that I can’t actually take credit for writing a song that the Lord not only gave me, but also insisted on - even when at first, I rejected it.

Once the lyrics were penned to paper, they were scrunched up and left for waste in the rubbish bin of my apartment – only to be later fished out at the continuous prompting of the Holy Spirit.

You see, this song was written at a stage in my life when my issues of self-hate appeared to have peaked and my sense of worth seemed it couldn’t get any lower. At the time, I was unaware that the season that was to follow would bring me face-to-face with every lie the enemy had wielded against me throughout my life.

This song served as a declaration of truth, when the onslaught of the enemy was relentless.

BUT GOD WON!

HE ALWAYS WINS.

The following are some truths I have had to choose to believe and embrace, because my Father spoke and it was, He declared and it was so.

So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.
— Genesis 1:27

God created you and I!
In Genesis it tells us that GOD created mankind in HIS OWN image. What?
If you think you have no value, stop right there! We are made in GOD'S image! It doesn’t matter if you are male or female, you were made EQUALLY in the image of our own GOD! THAT is incredible!
This alone gives you more value than anything else in this world.

God sent His Son to die for you and I!
How amazing is our God? He is worthy of all honour and praise. He loves us so much that He sent His ONLY son to die for our redemption. It was so unbearable for Him to lose us that He gave everything to give us the opportunity to choose Him. (John 3:16)

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
— Jeremiah 29:11

God has a GOOD plan for your life!
Jeremiah tells us many things about our worth and value - that we are fearfully and wonderfully made and that God carefully knit us together in our mothers womb. Of all the wonderful things that Jeremiah reminds us of, I personally love Jeremiah 29:11. Think about it! Not only does God have thoughts of peace (and not evil) towards us, not only has He given us a future and a hope, but God actually THINKS about us. You and me, we are on Gods mind! Not just sometimes, but ALL of the time!

Gods thoughts towards us outnumber the grains of sand on the beach. Come on now! You, my friends, are bought with a price. You are worthy of love BECAUSE of who you are in CHRIST.
God’s plans for you are certain. It is time that we STOP believing the lies of the enemy and START giving the enemy a panic attack by believing who GOD says we are!

How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You.
— PSALM 139:17-18

Once we come into an understanding of WHO God is, how much He values us and how much He loves us, it is then that we can find our TRUE identity in Christ. ‘I wear that crown’ is all about finding identity in Him and breaking off every lie that has and continues to plague us.

My heart is for people to not only relate to this song but, as it plays, do business with God and prophetically take off the lies of the enemy, the lies of others and the lies we speak over ourselves.

Truly accept and believe who you are in Christ.

May this song serve you as it has me, as a declaration of truth and a weapon even of warfare, as light that pierces darkness and with it, hope and truth that prevails.

TAKE UP YOUR CROWNS, YOU BEAUTIFUL CREATIONS!

In love,

Hannah Fay
